Day 1 (afternoon):  
Presentation of the training course  
Review of geology and hydrogeology (water cycle, effective rainfall, the balance sheet by watershed; porosity; permeability); particular case of the Karst  
 
Day 2:
  
Modification of the piezometry by gravel pits; relations water table / river  
Piezometry; quality of measures; geothermal energy and heat transfer  
Protective means of the water tables to be implemented in case of pollution or risk of pollution  
 
Day 3:
  
Impact of gravel pits and quarries on the quality of water  
Examples (Acid Mine Drainage, temperature, denitrification, oxygen cycle); quarry and floods  
Presentation and visit of the site Destival (Alès): processing of a mine water  
Presentation and visit of the quarry of Caveirac used as retention pond for floods  
 
Day 4:
  
The regulatory aspects; protections of the catchment area for water supply; implementation of easements  
Modelling of the flows (finite element method for example) applied to the projects of quarries  
Principles, methods, expected results  
 
Day 5 (morning):
  
presentation and visit of the site of Carnoulès; Acid Mine Drainage (AMD); conclusions  
Evaluation and final assessment
